PRACTICE AREAS

PERSONAL INJURY

Car accidents, slip & falls, disability insurance claims, other major and minor injuries

If you've been hurt, we can help.

Injuries strike out of the blue. There's no way to plan for them, and their aftermath can be a devastating disruption to your daily life. You may lose employment income. Travel and specialized medical costs can pile up quickly. Ongoing pain and suffering can be an overwhelming daily struggle.

Recovering from an injury is hard enough no matter what the circumstances — don't make things even tougher on yourself by trying to deal with insurance companies on your own. Whether you were injured recently or some time has passed since your accident, you won't truly know your rights until you speak to a professional and map out a plan to recover what you are owed.

Remember, you have nothing to lose by booking a consultation with our team. Our consultations are always free, and if you decide to retain us to represent you, we won't collect any legal fees unless we get you compensation for your injuries.

Let our team take up the fight to protect your rights so that you can focus your energies where they are best spent: getting your life back on track!

As always, if attending our office is an issue,  we make house calls.

WILLS &

ESTATES

Wills, Powers of Attorney, Personal Care Directives, Probate

Estate planning is a crucial process that many people unfortunately postpone until it is too late. This is understandable, as many are uncomfortable thinking about death, illness, and the distribution of their assets.

In reality, confronting these issues sooner rather than later will provide you with the peace of mind of knowing that you and your loved ones will be looked after should the unexpected happen. At Hillman Law, we will guide you through this process in plain English, making sure you understand your options and that your plan reflects and enforces your wishes.

The three most common estate planning documents most clients seek are wills, powers of attorney, and personal care directives.

Most people are familiar with wills — they are carefully prepared legal documents that instruct both how you want your real and personal property to be distributed upon your death, as well as who should be in charge of distributing it. If you have children who are still minors at the time of your death, your will is also a means by which you can name guardians of your choosing for them, rather than leaving this important decision up to the courts.

Unlike your will, which will only take effect upon your death, powers of attorney and personal care directives are documents that are only effective during your lifetime. These documents allow you to select someone you trust to act on your behalf in regards to your financial affairs or to make medical decisions for you in the event of an illness or accident that leaves you incapacitated.

As part of our Wills and Estates practice, we also assist executors of wills with the probate process. We recognize that navigating the complexity of probate law can be a daunting responsibility for executors during an already challenging emotional period, and so we work hard to simplify the process as much as possible.
